im nailing that sound more and more. ill prolly release something in taht vein this year.

parallel to that im actually making south rap instrumentals... but the industrial techno noise house sound is really getting a special place in my heart

Yeah, that's something I tried to get through in another thread about Blawan. That Moodymann sample in 'What You Do With..' rings true with his work. He probably uses a bunch of techniques to get his sound, but most of 'Blawan' sounds the way it does because of the way he applied it. His percussion is special because of the way it interacts with the other elements in his tunes! All the warping and EQ'ing in the world won't do you good if you can't get the groove and songwriting down first. The rest is just the icing on the cake.

It's not just Blawan, though. It's with a lot of producers. That's why we have a lot of producers using woodblocks, r&b vocals, static/rain and reverb, that don't sound like Burial at all.

With q&as, I prefer producers touching on approaches and inspiration over techniques anyway. MOST will be saying the same things anyway. RESAMPLING! HARDWARE! PARALLEL COMPRESION!!! We've all already written and read what they'd say in this forum anyway
