I think the problem is just that some dickheads taking moshing too far; its not about just punching people in the face, in a good pit people are just having fun and if someone falls down people help them up. Even if people drop something everyone clears out around them and lets them find it. At that particular show my friend dropped his glasses and people helped him find them. When you have a good, considerate crowd and its all in good fun then there's no problem.

depends on the band, venue & the crowd... whenever any of the LBU/Rucktion bands play london gigs (usually in tiny grotty dives) they're fucking terrifying places to be
good fun

i dont get what is fun about moshing and shit. how is banging into people and pushing people round fun? people dance to music cos they feel the beat, but moshing is not rhythmic, you could do it in total silence and it would look exactly the same, like in that video, people pushing each other, then stopping until they get a grip then go push someone else.
very gay in my opinion, i mean if you wanna go rubbin up and touching other bros, why dont you just go ahead, and fuck em?

come to a london hardcore show bruv... the swinging arms and all that still happens but its FAR more intimidating if it's all massive 6ft skinheads and scary looking bastards with no sense of spacial awareness rather than 14yr olds in skinny jeans with big fringes who are shit scared of actually getting hit
it's basically the difference between going to a knuckledust show or a bring me the horizon (gaaaaay) show.
