all this newschool trance stuff is just techy electrohouse with emphasis put on buildups and the occasional cheese melody the dutch are so well-known for.
i dont get why it's even called trance.
bigup my mom for having introduced me to psytrance/goa/acid when i wasnt even in kindergarten
this is the real shit.
all that supersaw + blonde bimbo singing stuff is more (happy) hardcore than trance imo.

I'm pretty sure you could rearrange the average trance song in to dubstep, just adjust the timing and duration of notes in the instruments and dub it up! You might need a few more tweaks production-wise but that probably wouldn't be a big challenge...
So yeah when I do something other than type rubbish on the internet while sitting in this armchair I'll try it myself!

I'm surprised that Above & Beyond are totally into Garage & Dubstep remixes of their tunes:
I totally dig these remixes. THere should be more official Garage & Dubstep remixes of Trance tunes

Above & Beyond have always struck me as being very knowledgable about good music. I know they've had D&B remixes done as well, and their 2004 Essential Mix started out with a bootleg of Brian Eno's "An Ending (Ascent)".

Im a HUGEEEEEEEE fan of the golden age of Trance ('97-'99). Some tunes of the top of my head that i would love to see get the Dubstep remix, just out of curiosity to hear how it would sound..
1. Art Of Trance - Madagascar (Ferry Corsten Remix)
2. Art Of Trance - Easter Island (Cygnus X Mix)
3. Banco De Gaia - Last Train To Lhasa
4. Bypass - Cyberia (Deep Trance Mix)
5. Carl Cox - Phuture 2000 (Deepsky Remix)
6. Club Quake - Vicious Circle
7. Discodroids - Interspace
8. DJ Robert & The Martinez Bros. - Electrified (Dolphin Trance Mix)
13. Solar Stone - Day By Day (Red Jerry 'Smack The Bigot Up' Dub)
14. Slyder - Neo (The One)
i could go on and on and on and on...

The trance aesthetic doesn't really go with dubstep at all... i don't see why any of it would be good remixed really. So just to continue the trend of actual good trance being posted here's a track that would obviously not be made any better as dubstep:
