Mr Hyde - Why don`t you list the positive aspects of your country so that I can talk shit about it.
Anyone attend the highly successful World Cup soccer?
How many spectators got killed, raped, .....
waste man
please don`t make statements that are not based on reality.

the rest of the world
quite a fair bit of international genetics have their sativa roots in Africa.
This friend I mention that moved here from the UK was selling skunk overseas.
He ended up sending our local weed over there and making a bundle.
Once you smoke a local sativa you`ll know what I mean.

I swear when the historians and archeologists come here in 1000 years they`ll think SA was populated by chickens.

I'm thinking of moving to Quebec when I leave university.
What's Montreal like? Job market, nightlife, etc.

Couldn't tell you what the job market is like, but I couldn't see it being too far from average (also depends oon what you're looking for); but the nightlife is pretty sweet, they have a really
good dubstep crew there too. The West End is probably where you'll wanna be, as (from what I know) it is the most anglophone friendly area. Although I've heard that certain people in certain parts of the city get really pissed off if you can't speak French.

realizing of course the Rand conversion may turn you into a multi-billionare when you get here. kidding

I had a friend who lived here for 3 years, back and forth to the UK.
He`s just gone back.
He managed to get a full time programming job for the local university, pretty quickly as well.
The thing with SA is that quite often you can get a job here based on your skills and experience.
It not like they`ll ignore you because you`re a foreigner.
A good worked is a good worker.
The cost of living is a hell of a lot cheaper than other countries.
The quality of life is also exceptional.
And then comes the amazing scenery, traveling, hiking, camping, extreme sports, etc.
Amazing local smokeables
the list just goes on and on
....not being able to drive through certain areas or stop- let alone walk, security guards with machine guns, 15 foot high security fences around your house, panic rooms, divided society with abject poverty alongside wealth and conspicuous consumption, one of the highest HIV rates in the world, a large amount of racism and poor education, shark infested seas, killer land animals. The list goes on and on.

Should I create the same exaggerated list about your country for now reason what so ever?
I`m giving you a first-hand heads-up but you choose to post the BS that the media churns out.
I don`t see the point of arguing this either way.
Or for that matter explaining any of my comments or countering any of your comments.
You don`t have to come here.
I will add though that a friend of mine from the UK was living here for 3-4 years and he preferred it hands-down.
He preferred the weather, general std of living, cost of living, the dope, the people, etc.
But when you do finally decide it`s worth it, you`ll realize I was telling the truth.
I've been there. And got a few friends that have moved from there to here that prefer it here. But when you do finally decide it`s worth it, you`ll realize I was telling the truth.

I'm studying French at university so language won't be a problem, it's one of the reasons I want to move there actually. Any job really that will make use of my language skills and ok pay. Something in an office probably?
oh, and thank you for the website! has been bookmarked for future reference

There's a South African server in a game I play and I've definitely considered at least visiting there when i get older. The people seem nice and the whole "nature" section seems amazing.

Those are all exaggerated facts.
I live here, I`m still alive.
I`ve never been raped, mugged, shot at, etc.
The closest I came to being raped was by my Grate Dane.
The amount of people I know that went to the UK, lived there for a few years only to return with nothing, unhappy and behind all of their friends who stayed in SA.

people like to complain though
I will enjoy most places because of what I make of it and get out of it.
Folks go overseas to party but I went to kayak
I love partying but I love the outdoors more.
SA has both, major win.
