is his 'music' really that innovative? that groundbreaking?
is it even that good?

sure, i can understand that he works hard... even i have to admit that guy tours alot, but can all those nominations really be all on his ability to sell a product? instead of on his musical merits?

He is the first artist to REALLY hit the mainstream (mainly thanks to Dead Mau Five). To most people this IS new music for them and totally different to anything theyve heard before (unless they listened to clownstep).

tbh I would say that it is pretty groundbreaking. Had not really heard anything quite like it until his music came along. Up until that point there was normally some sort of obvious progression and links between bars (even with bro) whereas Skrillex genuinely seems to have started the trend for random noises

we need our own awards, I SOLEMNLY SWEAR that if i win the euro millions or earn a large amount of money i will set up the dsf MUSIC awards

I would rather see Skrillex perform than Gaga, Rihana, etc.
At least the music is somewhat more geared towards our style.
