What to you mean by that? The early '80's is where things got all synth driven with the electro-funk, italo disco and the boogie. Plus the rise of house. That is some of my favorite shit.
If you are talking about it being batty, well disco was batty from the beginning.

70s had more groove and soul from the 60s era, stuff like Donna Summer and italo-disco is kinda horrible imho

I love the funk and soul but I also like when the electronics started coming in. That stuff was pretty funky as well.

yeah ofc, there's lots of great stuff in the 80s, I'm not condemning them as a whole I personally just prefer the early sounds of disco from the mid 70s on
