blawan's got some good drums hehehe
true point. However, I am a fan of drums that can sound good by themselves and in context with a track.

@Blake: The snare comes out very clearly but the kick is weak and limpy sounding. Keep trying and one day you will be a BOOOOIIISSSSTTTTT!!!!!!
Track in my sig has some sick ass drums imo. Although the kick kinda sounds like a square wave or is that just me?

Started this tonight - mix on the drums is nearly there; went for a bit of a question-answer between the chopped up break and more electronicy drums - feeling it!

That was tight Legend. Hey, do you wanna collab with me as I'd do a little guitar work? I remember you commenting my youtube page and telling me something like that.

They're pretty simple drums.. I just did a basic Breakstep/2step pattern with the break.
Then played around the other snares, I put distortion on them to make them feel more defined and in the mix more than the break. Copied the snare patterns 8 or so times and did variations.
I can upload the breaky drums if you want? I can't remember the exact break I took it from and chopped up but I don't mind sharing my variation of it for educational purposes

.

Distortion on snare drums was my biggest revelation in 2011... it really makes it sound "expensive" and crispy...
id luv to see a how to.. u always seem to come up with really simple but very efficient and out of the box ideas.. props

I started working on a prog house collab with my friend.
I tried to make a heavy, and full sounding kick that fits nicely with snare.
Let me know what you guys think!

your kick is way too flat.. lacks transient...
i def see the stylistic flat/bland/synthetic drum hits bring to the track, but imo u need to retain a bit of attack in a kick for it not to sound dull and unintelligible...
please take my word, and dilute it cause i just reread and it makes it sound like its shit.. its a dope track

i love the other drum sounds... the kick is the part id work on and imo the only thing u need to do is to define its attack a bit better
cool ish

It sounds like a click not a kick :/
