Also good to do during a successful set - nothing livens up a 128 bar pad breakdown like cracking one out.

Move on. Shit happens.
If anyone saw my 100% dubplates set on GetDarkerTV when both decks were completely fucked...you know.

Apples to oranges, I was the only DJ who train wrecked, and the only DJ playing vinyl.
Any good promoter will not think too much about a vinyl DJ having an off night I have rebooked people whom have had a bad vinyl set; just cause of selection and if they're good people.
Don't worry about it to much - keep a friendship with the people and in a few weeks ask if you can redeem yourself. Basically say you had a shit set/off day next time you speak to them (go to their next couple of nights) and then practice.
Playing house on vinyl isn't the easiest; the BPM gaps are much bigger than Dubstep or DnB so get loads of more practice in if you want to expand as a DJ.

I want to make a pun out of the name pangaea and some sort of wanking reference, but im too tired. Imagine one then respond accordingly.
Oh, and like...I dunno, just keep practicing to be honest. The idea of someone switching from vinyl to digital or cdjs or whatever solely because they think its easier and it'll make their live shows better makes me feel a bit sick. Like, youre booked to do something somewhere cos youre good at it...just practice and get better at it! I dunno, feels simple to me...

Give up and call it a day. If you fuck up you obviously shouldn't be a DJ.
