Strange, the first half of you statement, I couldn't possibly agree with more. The second one however, I couldn't possibly disagree with more. People do hold DMZ up extremely ridiculously high and automatically bash anyone who actually admits to not feeling some of their stuff. Personally I feel like Loefah might just be one of them most overrated producers in the scene, of course this is just my opinion and I can't wait to see how much shit I get for it, but I just don't see it. Don't get me wrong, I love his tunes, Disko Rekah was ground-breaking for sure, Mud, Ruffage too. The man has tunes, but I feel like some people straight up idolize the guy on this forum. Kinda feel that he has this way of making his tunes seem godly just by never releasing any of them. Mala will always be the king.

Just because you're out around other people in a building that isn't your house, doesn't mean the music has to be crazy and that you can't vibe out on something less chaotic. It's not a cop-out and it's not about location but about context. If taken out of context almost anything can seem silly/ugly/stupid and be banalized.

i agree. i dont really listen to it any more, got pretty bored of it. never will be bored of basically any of his other tunes. dont quite get the bumlicking for disko rekah but i still think he's an amazing producer for basically the rest of his output

I should have said, I feel that people idolize him without warrant. Sure he's a great producer, but .....I don't feel that the amount of rimming he receives is not justified by the quality of his work, that's all.

^You're a tool. Coki said himself he doesn't go out of his way to write amazing pieces of music, he writes dubplates. Dubplates that he cuts to play on big fucking systems to wreck the dance. And they end up getting released because people love them.
It's not "rimming", a lot of people genuinely enjoy his music, and this being dubstepforum, a lot of those people post on here. Is that such a difficult concept?

I think Loefah deserves our respect more than many producers, when he produced dubstep he made original tracks that really paved the way for producers that completely lack originality, to unfortunately join a scene that has lost credibility very quickly. Since then he bravely moved away from producing and began a label that continues to revolutionise far more than just the dubstep scene it was born out of. Still though I respect your view and despite my respect for Loefah as a person this does not necessarily mean I appreciate his production past or present and if I buy his music I will buy it purely on merit rather than hype. I also further agree that Mala is "king", and his tunes are the reason DMZ is held in such high esteem. Though even his music often suffers purely by the label it is released on. Just listen to "Explorer", a tune that has received criminally little attention, nonetheless incredible. However if "Explorer" had been released on DMZ everyone would be shitting themselves hoping they get a copy. DMZ have released some incredible music but this plate along with Coki's LP and the "get twisted" release are far from incredible. It just staggers me that Chemical have to have "one-per-customer" policy on such a poor, uninteresting and unoriginal release.

You are so,fucking, stupid. Not even talking about Coki man, typically people read words. Words form sentences, sentences form complete thoughts, and then collectively this whole structure enables humans to communicate.. Above I utilized this apparently incredibly difficult concept (for people such as yourself) to express my feelings about Loefah. I've already said that I completely enjoy this release, both tunes are huge and I love them. However that is not what we were discussing above. Actually read discussions before you start spewing out idiotic and mindless retorts to something.

I agree with everything in here. I also feel that if for instance, some deep dark tune made by some other random producer was made, and then it was told to the dubstep scene that it was by Mala or Loefah. Everyone would go fucking nuts over it, however, if it just had whoever's random producer name on it, assuming that people gave it a listen, it would not receive an eighth of the hype or acclaim.
