Maybe im crazy, but I found fm8 to be way easier than massive. Especially when I have a specific sound in mind, I find it way more intuitive to build everything one piece at a time from scratch.

The synths I use are Massive, Sylenth, tone2 Gladiator and albino.

I would say these are all fairly easy synths to learn and all have there own unique capabilities.
Massive is great for all the bassline work you hear in dubstep/drum and bass. Sylenth is amazing for warm leads, arps and pads, Gladiator is very good for many types. Albino is kind of an all rounder, it can create knarly basses all the way to ambience.

Alot of synths do the same thing and I can output the same sounds, the only major differences are the acutal look of the interface.

I would say the 2 synths I couldn't live without as they can do so so much is Massive and Sylenth.

Just pick 2 ones you like the look of and learn the shit out of them.
