In my opinion pads don't work very well with short notes. I lean toward long, evolving notes that change every 2 or 4 bars. To avoid it clashing with other sounds, turn the volume down and EQ out the frequencies of the kick and the snare(100Hz and 200Hz) and also the sounds of the bass and the main synth(200-400hz and 1KHz). That should clean up alot of the clashing that's going on. As far as being too shy to post it.... POST IT!!!! We've all sucked at one point so don't worry about it. I'm sure you'll just get positive criticism. It would really help all of us to hear the problem and not just read about it.quantum_physics wrote:will try that nowKillamike49 wrote:I usually write pads in with alot of space in between the notes. Like, a major chord inverted over like 2-3 octaves would sound real pleasing and would fill out alot of space without clashing as long as it's in key.quantum_physics wrote: he mentionned pads too , but is it little notes , long notes that never change of notes (if that makes sense ) or chords ?
by reverted u mean reversed ? or take the 3rd & 5th and detuning 'em an octave ?
