Not everyone is happy when they peak behind the curtain. I've left a couple of careers after taking a peak back there.

I've tried to sit through and read this whole thread... but it just perplexes me. I simply cannot relate.

The more I learn about anything - the more inspired I get. The epitome of that inspirational overload... was actually while I was in a Recording Engineering program. The more I learned, the more ideas I got and the more experimentation I wanted to do. It got so epic - that I actually decided NOT to pursue my Masters Degree - and just finish out the year... because all that I was learning kept leading to more and more ideas I had to follow through. After I did my assignments & course work - I spent every night in the studio from 9pm to 3 or 4 in the morning. 7 days a week.

To clarify my perspective, I don't know if it is exactly in agreement with op, but, the more I learn about production, yes the more ideas I have, the more ability I have to realize those ideas, but in looking back at what I'm making now versus what I was making way back, way back had a kind of abandon and truly left field bizarreness that I just don't see in what I'm doing now. My hope is that everything that I've learned, and all of the technology that I use will become transparent again and I can get back to romping around sound with abandon. Just not there right now.

Music in general inspires me,i listen to more than i produce.I literally go to work come home and do music related things.I watched minimal tv other than football, docs and film's.Honestly i listen to so much music is a bit of a obsession. Also the more techniques i've learned the more it's become an obsession.
I get really angry if i have to go out anywhere because i want to make tunes, also get the hump if i'm in the zone and the wife disturbs me.I really do reckon she will leave me eventually because of it but to be completely honest if music was a visual thing you could bang she would have been kicked to the curb years ago lol
