The sounds are the ribbon.

:miyagi:

Burning the sounds to a cd and kicking it down a cement flight of stairs sounds like a good start, though.

my thoughts:

a - idea is ok, rhythmically too simple i'd say. drums sound too thin. sonics are too clean aswell, needs saturation of some sort. main feeling is that the overall musical idea needs more originality.

b - again song idea is way too simple, needs more in the foreground sonically. some of the reverb/pad swell sound nice but need to build into something substantial. feels like a tune thats 40-50% done.

c - listening to drums and swishy atmospherics isnt really interesting to listen to, needs a core idea where all other elements build upon, yours seems to be the occasional delayed piano hit. although i like the lfo'ed metallic kinda sound, maybe gone further with that?

d - sonics are nice, bubbly panned sound is interesting, again perhaps that should have been the core of the tune. bass synth isnt exciting enough to be such a major part.

e - i like the whistly sound as an idea, but youve surrounded it with clashing concepts. quite like the vocals and how they work with the whistle sound.

f - feels the most cohesive piece. vocal work’s good, lacking something to sit with the vocals. like the drums, not enough to leave them bare in the verses though.

g - nice fret sound, should be louder. vocal melody aint really working, but nice chorus effect. main melody isnt exciting enough, sonically or musically. drums are good.

Some beefy songs in here -- its always pretty eye-opening to see how different everyone's approach is and where their ideas take them.

Intro is too long and doesn't really build to anything. The snare is rhythmically stiff and never really fits in. I thought my computer was freezing during the breakdown.
