i was watching a show with the pear of anguish, and they said it probably wasn't really used in mouths due to being prone to breaking.
iirc there is also no proof of them ever being used

Coffin death has got to be the worst. At least if you had your legs ripped off or if you were burnt alive you'd die within minutes. Being buried alive would destroy you psychologically before anything else.
