Picked up some AIAIAI ones yesterday after I lost my others the night before that. They are pretty nice and only £30.

considering the same company that makes er20/25 earplugs also makes high end in-ear monitors i'm not entirely convinced that all earphones are bad all of the time

Lol forgot I had pompende on ignore the past year or so
Anywho, if you're generally concerned with protecting your ears your best bet is to talk to your local doc or get a federal to a specialist
I know mine recommended outer earplugs... And oddly enough I found them more effective and more comfortable. Didn't get that irritated warm ear feeling

Can someone recommend some non-pussyole earphones (in-ear, you pedantic fucks) that don't stop working in one ear after a couple of months, have good sound and are less than £80 please?
I've had Sony ones in the past, Sennheiser cx 300 iis and some Soundmagic shite that broke today after ten weeks of use.
Is there a brand that has stupidly strong cables? That would be ideal.
No, headphones are not an option.
Thanks, guise!!!

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate that, but I can't fucks with that style of earphone - they tend to fall out when your head isn't in an upright position.

Oh yeah kinda, although I wear ear defenders over the top of them at work and these really are the best for it. I need the ear hooks or whatever they're called otherwise they just fall out, also they can be
shapped to any way you want.
Cheap as fook too.

My head is often a awkward angles while working (inb4 sex trade) and i've always found ones that go in rather than go in and hook round actually stay in better. I suppose that's more to do with the shape of my ear 'ols than anything..

Nice. What about longevity? Can't be arsed with ones that'll break quickly.

probably going to get shit on for saying this but to be honest the powerbeats by dre have lasted longer than anything i've ever used, and they have a built in subwoofer so they really hit hard and sound way more dynamic than cheaper <$50 counterparts.
that said they are stupidly overpriced, should be about 60 bucks when they are 150. but they have the ear hook which made them perfect for jogging. my dad got them for me a few years back for xmas, they lasted 14 months i think, with heavy daily use. there is also a microphone/call answering/mp3 playback controller attached that is unfortunately iPhone only, so don't bother if you don't have one. (i don't, my dad had no clue he just went to best buy and got raped hard despite my requests to let me pick the headphones)
the key to earbuds is to not store them in your pocket. i have killed countless pairs this way. nothing will short the cable faster (outside of maybe a pair of scissors..) i put them in a drawer when i got to work and if i had to take them transit/travelling somewhere i would actually bring the gay little carrying case. no matter how "durable" the cord is, the point where it connects to either the male plug or where it connects to the earpiece is going to get smoked by the pressure of being in your pocket while you walk around.
i got really sick of earbud characteristic problems and actually wear a pair of bose headphones around. probably look like a nerd but i don't give a shit. they were also a gift from a friend, but they have lasted 3 years with heavy use, the only thing going out now is the earpads. the sound quality is really tinny and bass heavy (lacking mids) but i will hand it to bose on the build quality, i have beat the crap out of these things and they have survived.
