lol. if you really wanted to go I think you could call smart bar and see if they could make a special arrangement, like if you went with your dad or something

lol
it's less that I think CPD is patrolling DSF, and more that it's completely unprofessional to discuss such a thing - on the internet especially.

oh I'm fully aware of how not worth it it is. They've turned it into a huge thing (felony) this year. More of just a joke to gauge how much the staff care about underage hooligans running about.
Unfortunately the smart bar is really the only place pushin the sound and now not only have I missed out o the origin of the scene I'm missing out on the scene in Chicago. Which is a great source of grief for me.
Regardless I suppose its worthwhile to say I don't possess a fake ID and I have no plans of sneaking into the Smart Bar. Mope outside of it? Potentially.

i didn't mean not worth it, just smart bar is notoriously one of the hardest carding venues i know of.
i know a few people who got turned down with legitimate IDs for whatever reason....
was a source of strife for me for a long while, don't give up hope! there is a light at the end of the underage tunnel.

This was not a Bassweight night, but my crew (who does Bassweight) put this one - Todd Edwards live at Smart Bar back in November...

I can tell you, there most definitely is not. Pretty much all good dubstep in chicago is held at venues that are 21+

preach.
sorry for derailing this for my shenanigans.
However, I'm going to continue to.
At some point wasn't there some polish bar that also had a funktion 1? I was talking to a guy who said he saw skream there, but it closed a while back.
There are some alternatives though. you can catch the odd dubstep artist at an 18+ gig. Dats Wots Up has really good artists in Detroit, I shipped out there for Coki and had an earsplitting blast. I know a guy who runs a monthly reggae/dance hall night, I'm gonna start going to those I think. I sat in on one of his radio shows and really enjoyed it.

trust me i'm familiar with the predicament of the chicago scene, i suffered through many years of underage woes.
i just meant you'll be 21 soon enough and you'll forget the doors were ever closed to you. also makes it doubly awesome once you do finally make it.

Was talking to Riglow a few months back, he mentioned something about wanting to throw an 18+ bass gig, not sure what his plans still are though, but one can dream..
Until then, I'll wait 2 more tedious years of not getting to see dubstep legends.

After many months of being out of the country, I am finally back in Chicago and have every intention of going to Thursdays event. Any word on the line up? I will be leaving the country once again later in January, so this will be my only chance to attend a Brut Force event until 2014. In any case, I'm really pumped up for this. Can't wait!
P.S.: Are there any other dubstep events happening in January in Chicago or nearby that I should know about? Thanks in advance.

God dammit. Stop making the age 21+. Every time an actual DECENT artist comes to chicago that isn't skrillex or datsik, the age restriction is usally 21+. Couldn't see megalodon or netsky when they were last in chicago because venues make it 21+.
HHHNNNNNGGG.
Good line-up though. If only I was 21...

Also, I know this thread was for dubstep, but we really need more dnb nights in chicago. Serious lack of dnb in chicago. Lots of dnb heads around here hiding in the dark.
