Never heard most of these stories since I live stateside and am sadly misinformed on european (real) football news. I just like the fucker because he has scored magnificent goals from a young age and hasn't celebrated extravagantly...until the wonder strike against germany that you would have to be a tnuc NOT to celebrate after! Regardless if the stories are true or not, he remains one of my favorite players.
I also find it funny that it's almost a 50/50 split on tnuc vs. legend opinions
cheers, time for a 3:30am fresh beer and smoke.
p.s. since the netherlands untimely exit..go spain! :p

true legends will never be fully recognised in their own times

Excuse the music but..this is just one season of the man's goals, strikes, touch, awareness, follies, and temper:

semi-legend, but mainly a tnuc
though im sure if he stubbed a cigar out on a team mates eye that the papers would find a way to love it
just sounds like he's trying to be the new joey barton as i swear thats exactly waht barton did when he was there.
I fuckin love Mario, total legend. Gutted most of theose stories were'nt true tho - he answers it all in the interview he did with Noel Gallagher for football focus, I think it's on youtube and is definitely worth a watch. There's a bit where he gets asked if he's thinks he can be the best player in teh world and he answers (very humblely) ' Yes, I want but I have lots of work to do'. While he is a cocky git i think he really belives he is that good so it's more self confiednce that cockiness. Similarly when he's asked about the penalty against spurs he's like 'Of course I score , it's my job - I don't miss' Mario also agrees to give him the 'why always me shirt'!
For all the haters and doubters I think you need to give him more slack. When Rooney was 20 he was just as petulant and wild but the english press at the time gavce him a free ride saying 'he's only a lad' etc, people need to give Mario the same leeway as he is as good if not better than Ronney was at that age and Mario has achieved more.

footballers always get a hard time about being 'lads'. If someone started throwing me premiership footballers wages when I was 21 I'd probably have done some perculiar things too as would anyone
My friend at Manchester uni told me Balotelli came and paid everyone's library fines.

He's a knobhead. Can't stand him, or the boring, made up stories that perpetuate how "legendary" he is.
