just an idea, but door prizes are usually a good idea, possibly skrillex blow-up dolls?

Oh my... how dares he
amazing.nopEda wrote:If you mean the party idea yes I want to try it. If it never happens I've still learned things from playing around with it. I've got a 90 minute set the way I want it to go and have practiced run throughs doing lights to it a few times, recording as I do. Then I can watch it later and think about changes to make and things to add and things to try not to fu*k up next time etc... So even if the party never happens I can apply things from practicing Skrillex to other things, like I did lights for a band called Rehab last night and managed to squeeze a few tricks in there, and on Thursday and Sunday nights when it's all DJ. Trying to get them to play Skrillex is a waste of time, and on the rare occassions that they do it's usually some screwy remix that's an insult to the original idea, or they only play a fraction of a song, or both. But! The majority of people I talk to say they like Skrillex even though they sure don't get much of it around here. What little dubstep that does get played here you guys wouldn't approve of any more than his stuff I don't think. Just my luck that the only DJ who comes around and does play it, is the DJ for when we have fight nights and I'm not running a real light show. That guy will play a number of different Skrillex songs.Today wrote:is this real
If you know where I can go to find out about whether or not we can use his name etc PLEASE let me know. Since there are tribute bands--sometimes we have more than one in a night--it seems there should be some way of having a tribute part too, and even some way(s) of promoting it. It would say on the flyer it's a tribue and that he won't be there.
He played one song stomping all over the intro saying how people liked it, then only played half the song. Maybe that's cool to you but so far I'm only aware of what's shitty about it.johney wrote:Do you mean the DJ did not play the entire track?
I'm still trying to find out if we can even use an artist's name to promote a tribute to them... If you know of any better place(s) to go try to find out, please let me know._cheef_ wrote:door prizes are usually a good idea
