these sounds/vibes have existed for a long time and i've been entranced by them for as long as i can remember
from dark house to jungle to wherever the fuck we are now, there's a certain "vibe" (for lack of a better word) that i have searched for and embraced across all of these genre's if that makes sense

I agree that good music is good music, regardless of bpm, genre, whatever... But as for djs going all over the board, I personally don't enjoy that. Sure, there are djs who can pull it off, but I, for one, prefer one genre sets. Maybe I come across as close-minded or whatever, but that's what I like.

i can enjoy a one genre or tempo set if its something special, but i can't endure a one genre or tempo night... doesn't mean i am more open minded, but it might mean that I have ADD or summat

If you got 5 djs who play exactly the same shit yeah, it can get boring fast. Like let's say a jump up dnb night. But 5 djs playing different styles of dnb is alright in my book.

i think the value of working at 130bpm from an ex-dubstep perspective is that those that do can come to with a fresh mind, away from the pre-conceptions of 140 bpm "dubstep", and begin to find something new that is dark, bassy but in fresh ways.

All the tunes are huge. Commotion is way too much. I think 130 beats from a dubstep perspective is really fun and refreshing. I'm way more into than regular UK Funky or that 808 Swamp 81 sound. I gotta bigup Beneath as well, who is making some killer dark 130 riddims. I can't wait to mix his stuff with some of Wen's.

I actually pitch a lot of Wen beats down to fit with mine. Sounds even better, hear those tight little bits of sound you don't quite pick up on and those heavy bass sounds fill out even nicer.
Should be collabing with him soon, we're both FL users ghost of sound even there, FL is pretty much the fuel of the sounds he's influenced by imo
