personally i feel this has a bit more texture and substance than the run of the mill electro house that you get when you browse top 10 on beatport or something along those lines.

maybe i need to listen to it a few more times

Well maybe when you wake up one day and realise that actually, house music is pretty good, then you'll stop wanting to go to nights full of dubstep fanboys crywanking to 28 grams and you'll start appreciating that house influenced tunes like this are actually pretty fucking tasty.

I'll give you a year son ;-)

I like house and techno, been into that in some form or another for longer than dubstep. But a lot of house and techno is quite shit (same as a lot of dubstep/drum n bass is shit, there's good and bad in all genres/styles).

There's enough house and techno DJs/producers anyway, the really good stuff that gets released on Swamp isn't really house or techno. 'Hypnotic' by Trusta for instance, it isn't a generic house/techno track and it has this wicked metalheadz/techstep vibe to it. This track is just fairly uninteresting 808s and bad electrohouse noises.

To be honest I've been getting a bit bored of the Rinse show the more it delves into house and techno and deviates away from the UK stuff. Not to say I don't like that stuff (although some of it I don't really) but there's people doing it better, I don't listen to Swamp for that.

aside from a winking smiley and a reference to crywanking over 28 grams was there any more you needed to confirm I wasn't being deadly serious?

could definitely go without having this one. definitely hope this isn't a shift in direction from the label.

I agree although I think the biggest problem with the show is it's too predictable. I don't wanna be listening to the same tunes I heard in November, the fact it's every month should mean more variation. And good god they need to start playing tunes closer to the release date, they lose so much impact when they've been floating around for 9 months or more

Feels like they just wanna bring out bangers and nothing of substance. Like said, this stuff ain't gonna age well.

Bangers are fine, but this is very close to being downright cheesy.

This,

Used to give it a look but don't really bother with it now none of the recent releases have been of interest and are just cheese. Croydon house is the sort of sound that will age well, both of the pinch 12"s for that matter.

Yeah, massive love for the Croydon House release.
Would like to hear more dark 4x4 house/techno inspired stuff from him. He really nails the the proper sound and atmosphere.

i'd be right there with you, mane

this sounds like something mstrkrft would play when they want to show that they have "transatlantic taste and/or appeal"

you can practically hear the fistpumps through the phones
