meh not really, the brostep challenge was the deeper guys' chance to put their money where their mouth is so to speak, i think itd be cool for us guys that make a heavier sound to try our hand at the more chiller side of dubstep

On a serious note though, I think these should revolve around creating new sounds and genres instead of saying "lets see who can make the best trance song". Making up a genre that's way the hell out there (baroque acid house at 140) will level the playing field for everyone and turn this into more of a challenge than a competition.

Maybe we could come up with something to replace moombahton...

hip hop instrumental tune battle

pretty much encompasses nearly all tempos, instrumentation, disco, boom bap, drumstep, dubstep, grime, 808/trap, jazzy, ambient, funk, neurofunk, etc

leaves out the trance and house fellows though. still, one of the more broad genres by way of sounds and tempos
less rules than most genres

I'm backing up hutyluty, plus one for bassline, never tried to make it, rekon it'd be so much fun.

I second this, great idea.
I also like the idea of doing trance or ambient.

haha the idea of the tune with the most spam wins really got stuck in my head
lets say one month to get the tune full with comments by tagging it with the worst words possible
haha i know i will get hate for that idea but that would be the worst contest ever so pointless
