Colorado is tits, lay off the cheese.
Anywho, this measure is actually gonna end up hurting a lot of people I know that work in the medical industry.
I'm happy that I might not have to watch my back as much but the industry is gonna be a whole lot less profitable and far more regulated.
Bittersweet :/
That's true, but at least the unorthodox-dispensary's will go out of business. Plus you won't have to spend the something-hundred dollars just to get a card (I think, too early to tell).

So far that's the word. But I heard it might take them up to 2 years for the changes to come into effect. Plus, as everyone else it saying, I'm sure the DEA will make multiple attempts to terrorize law abiding citizens and business owners.

I have my medical card, and I hope that this new law does not affect mmj users.

and the feds have been fucking with MM users in cali for years... the justice department has made it clear to them they're not going to prosecute users under any circumstance for simple possession

Not really true. They started sending swat teams into lawful businesses in the run up to this election.

I've heard a few days thrown around, and i've heard multiple time frames when the thing will most likely be put into effect. 1 month, 2 months, 6 months, and most recently 2 years.
I guess I'll take a pic of some bud behind a walgreens counter when I see it. Should be safe to say its in effect by then.

i lived in southern california for 5 years and they raided dispenseries all the time. So they have been fucking with them for years. Likely on the same level they'll fuck with CO and WA.... shut down MM Disp, ignore simple possession and small grows.

Three dispensaries in my town got raided and shut down this last spring. Thankfully, the best one re-opened recently. The guy who runs that one is a very talented grower as are the people in his circle. Seriously some of the best stuff I've seen anywhere, whether in Cascadia, in LA or in Amsterdam.
People in class were talking about it today, and one person said that the state government can regulate the prices and the potency which has the potential to go down a bad road.
I do hope that the mmj patients are exempt from that but I do know it's going to affect the market somehow.
There has been this total disconnect between city governments, the State government and then of course the Feds. This raid that happened recently was done at the city level and it went to court. There have been several court cases recently that have been good, but these have all been at the local level. One city got sued by a patient for not allowing dispensaries in that town and she won.

That is the thing. These local police agencies just blatantly ignore the law as it regards to this issue. They like to do a song and dance about respect for the law, and that they are just enforcing the law, yada yada yada, then it comes to this and they're like fucket, we don't like this so we are going to break the law, and do raids on innocent people who conform their actions to the law, and then the cases are thrown out of court, but the damage is done.
The leaders of these agencies should be removed, and prosecuted. The motherfucking people enact laws, and the police enforce them. It is LAW ENFORCEMENT not opinion enforcement. If you can't handle that, time to work private security.
Would like to see a perfect storm of a case where the police do one of these illegal raids, and the people inside stand their ground and blast the police as they come in with auto weapons. Of course the blaster is prosecuted, but is found innocent, and then the police can take to rioting in the streets claiming no justice... Whereupon we all head out with shields, tear gas and baseball bats and beat their fucking heads in. A role reversal fantasy, indeed.

there was a story on 60 minutes about 3 weeks ago where basically the feds said "if its legal in the states we'd only go after large grows with discrepencies"
however colorado is mega advanced with tracking grows as it is. They've been preparing for this for ages now

Some states, like Co required dispensaries to do their own grows. It is just a total mess.

By the way pkay, I did some more "research" on when the law will be in effect, this is what I've gathered up so far:
January 2013, Adults 21 and over will be able to possess under an ounce and exchange under an ounce.
January 2014, Weed will be sold in retail stores.
