Yeah but they didn't just change what it looks like, they removed some features we liked and added ones that we don't.NW DUBAHOLIC wrote:knell wrote:literally every single website design change is met with resistance from the users at first.
Really did not like the changes to gmail. It has been a long time and it is still bothersome. Heavy use of too light grays, and overall information ambivalence. Sc shares many of the same flaws, in my opinion.knell wrote:literally every single website design change is met with resistance from the users at first. just have to assess if there is enough new streamlining/features to justify the uncomfortable transition, which can only happen after the shock of the novelty has worn off.

Is next level dramaticsolitude and blindness is what i feel when im sc now, a vague diluted version of what i was once comfortable with
I disagree. I think it looks very clean. Maybe an unnecessary improvement but at least it didn't cost me anything.nowaysj wrote:Some things, I don't like. Too crowded. Some info is demphasized. It does look ugly now though. Other one was nice and clean, but actually could have used some touches... seems like they went overboard. I don't use any of the social aspects of sc, can't say about that.
Exactly, seems like they're trying to become more 'modern' so that they can get more users. The thing is, it was functional as hell so musicians didn't care, seems like they're almost exclusively trying to appeal to the non-uploader crowd. Only problem is, at heart it's still a music uploading platform, so most people who don't make music aren't gonna care still.Hedley King wrote:I don't mind the look of it but am not into websites trying to be overly inter-connected. I use SC to promote my music and listen to/contact others that make music, I use facebook for keeping in contact with friends....two seperate things that I don't really need to be linked. I'd rather not have any of the suggested people to follow or sharing/social network linking type features.
Not sure if it's just because of Beta but uploading to groups isn't working. The changes seem to promote non-uploader use and sharing at the expense of the uploading producers- people that made SC what it is.
This. It's not like it's only a few of us who don't like it, the general consensus (from what I've seen) has been a negative reaction, if we all let them know what we don't like, and if it's enough of us, they will listen because if we (the artists) stop using it as much, they're screwing themselves. Less music = less people going to soundcloud.outdropt wrote:Make a list of all the features you don't like and drop it in their feedback box, when shit is in beta, the developers rely on feedback from the users.
pessimistic much?OfficialDAPT wrote:It's alright, nothing to get upset about they're eventually going to change everything you know and love anyway.
You can change it back to the old layout. I have the old layout as we speak...Electric_Head wrote:So we've been forced into this.
