Benga is one of those people (see also Photek etc) who could basically spend the rest of his life producing HI-NRG eurodance and still be utterly unimpeachable on the basis of his old stuff. I'm not much into his recent stuff but fuck it, there are lots of other people I'm not feeling who didn't write Crunked Up...
the fuck you talking about? photek's been killing it for 2 decades now. Anyone who was mad overhow he ended up in drum and bass is a knob. Baltimore fucking killed. Can't explain how hard that tune went off
but anywho Photek did closer last year... and one of the dancefloor bangers of last year hands down
and his ep with Kuru is one of the best EDM 12"s of the year Fountainhead and No Agenda are amazing
His new LP KU:PALM is kinda meh though

american dubstep ruined everything, but the scene was so immature it needed to go through some shit like this before it could learn how to appreciate sophisticated shit. i think we're about to be ready for "real" dubstep at this point, but it's gonna need a different tempo i reckon

the future is in 140 with breakbeat and producers actually learning how to edit drum patterns.
edit: and if anyone says breakstep you get punched in the dick

Benga > Skrillex
Skrillex > Bronga
yeah, his old productions were tight etc, but even still, i rarely play them, not even in the car or anything.
i don't listen to skrillex at all, usually try to avoid listening, but i respect his success/luck, not my sound though.
I dunno tbh, benga seems to be getting really arrogant, really arrogant.
nothing wrong with wanting to succeed/wanting to be famous (even though music should be about music, and imo you shouldnt make music to be famous, you should make music because you want to, if you end up famous, props)
He's doing a good job hyping himself/the album, but imo reality will hit soon.
i did batter a preview of runnin' when i first heard it though, did like that one a fair bit
what he's currently doing, is restoring my faith in skream, although he plays a lot of bro, at least his productions are still skream

Why? What's wrong with breakstep? I would love a breakstep revival.

i think he just meant "and don't tell me this already happened with breakstep"

yeah i mean a more intelligent focus on breakbeats and edits rather than simple repetitive breakbeats sufficing. I liked breakstep too but I believe the future is a more drum centric breaks related orientation.

So what you're saying is that it's time for breakcore revival. Except at 140 BPM.

Skrillex came from shit, has always been shit. Benga came from greatness and personally betrayed me. Which is worse?
