Some tunes wont suit a long blend, whereas sometimes you'll come across a mix that fits together so well that you'll want to ride it out as long as people are feeling it.
Also depends what context you are mixing in, for a radio show or studio mix, you're more likely to try and get deep, smooth, long blends and make the transitions as seamless as possible, whereas live you might just feel like smacking in 26 Basslines (first example that sprang to mind), a track that doesn't exactly lend itself to long blends, but if it goes off noone's going to bat an eyelid at the mix (or lack of).

its pretty standard tho, have you mixed it into the original?

thats the only way i can ever mix it!
but i dunno, it doesnt seem to stay in beat, like it almost starts to slip in & out, and then i have to start riding the pitch. then i cry because it sounds terrible
It isn't that hard. With Bugg'n you have to skip a little bit because the "1" isn't at the first beat, Higher Ground is in the 160 BPM range, and the rest of those tunes aren't that hard either.

i agree about pearson sound's "clutch".
even if you figure out how to queue it after a while, the bassline's structure doesn't seem to fit the other 130bpm stuff i try to mix it into.
I wouldnt say unmixable, its just you gotta be on it cos the intros are short, none of them drawn-out 32 bar mixing techinques

also, stupid question, but how long is a bar?
In the VAST majority of bass music: 4 beats. Known as a 4/4 time signature.

I once mixed it into the midnight request line, sounded pretty cool

Kalawanji. That weird group of 3 bars right at the drop fucks everything up.

I've mixed so much breakcore... or really cut-up jungle into juke or whatever's deemed tricky. But I can't for the LIFE of me mix 'Voyeur' by Instra:mental in to anything. And I do mean ANYTHING.
This is seriously on some embarrassing shit. When I saw this thread today I was reminded of it, tried it again and.. failed. To make sure I can even mix at around 135 bpm anymore, I just did 2 random garage tunes and it was an effortless mix.
There's no swing, no shuffle, no syncopation. It's the most straight forward little 808 2-step rhythm ever AND I CAN'T DO IT ARGH. Fuck this song.
EDIT: I'VE DONE IT.. SORT OF. WITH TONS OF CONSTANT CORRECTION I CAN MIX IT INTO 'WHY THEY HIDE THEY BODIES UNDER MY GARAGE' BY BLAWAN.

I wanna try it now cos i cant see how this would be hard, maybe it doesnt have a strict bpm, Ive found that Salsa by Doubleheart doesnt cos even if you sync it, it still gradually goes out

I really don't know the issue either, like I ride the pitch real hard and I still gotta correct constantly but even the teensiest correction makes it go off beat even more and no other tune does that to me.
It's probably me, though. Buuuut if it isn't, by all means prove me right!

just skip it on until the hats come in, it probably confusing cos the kick/bass is not on the first beat, but the 16th hats start one 1
thanks, is the snare on the four then the three?
no, its on the 1st and 4th of the second bar, no snare in the first bar
