I think you mean more of a dungeon/swamp bass. Reese, modulate the FUCK out of it. Be careful when distorting. Multiband distortion is imo the best way to subtly add some grist to it. Ohmicide is great for this.

Does anyone know how to make a generic darkstep wobble? It could anything from a bass wooble to a mid to high range scream/squeal wobble. For example the sound in the video above at 0:56 (it comes directly after the first intro growl bass in the drop) something like that. I'm trying to enter the darkstep genre, and I really like the sounds artist like Rekoil, Exude, TrollPhace, etc, use in their darkstep songs. Any help whatsoever would be awesome. Thanks.
actually just try to do a scream filter with a very sharp envelope at the cutoff, then a bitcrusher and so on
found this : http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=117253
chainsaw caligraphy got a smiliar bass as i know, try to customize etc

What plugin do you usually for multiband distortion. I'm kind of new to all this so I'm only using single band distortion plugins now, namely camel crusher.

(is it necessary? at this point that is) --> Add Distortion (Camelphat/crusher? Blood overdrive? WHAT ARE GOOD PLUGINS FOR THIS) --> EQ AGAIN? Or don't and instead add and automate HP/LP/BS Filters?
Have you tried granular synthesis by any chance. I would like to experiment with the granulizer and maybe some other outside granular synthesis in the future, but i'm not exactly sure what type of sound I would use to resample when use that type of synthesis. Maybe a reese bass? idk.
fruity waveshaper is a very versatile distortion plugin and is capable of a lot if you dig in deep
ok theres valid reasons why i use a few EQs..
for the first EQ i meant automate the peak points (not just leave the EQ there for the stake of equalising) so use the EQ as a filter
the phasers & flangers are both for movement (flangers more for getting a metallic feel)
also another thing, i would typically place EQ right before distortion to shape the distortion with EQing. it gives the sound a different character when doing this. also its a good way of getting more "in your face" basses without sounding like crap (if done right)
lately most important tip!! the reason i do my chains roughly in THIS order is because when placing phasers and flangers near the end of the change it sounds too dry or cheap.. when putting them early in the chain way before the distortion it will sound cleaner (depending on the initial sound and your FX chain) and will be easier to tweak to achieve nice sounds.
sorry i didnt explain these points properly earlier.
lastly granulisation.. do not worry about using it since it's quite tricky to get good sounds this way for a beginner.
i would only use granulization on a basic level and layer other sounds on top of it to make it sound better rather than mangle 1 sample for ages.

Essentially, where Neurofunk and Darkstep both come from Techstep, they took different directions on where they headed from there. Neurofunk brought in Sci-Fi elements, and tried to get as clean of a production as possible. Darkstep went into a more horror-esque direction, and incorporated elements of Darkcore.
or the growling, demonic wobble that starts 15 seconds in to "kill everybody".
i made the wobble in the song that's in my signature by using the attack bass patch on the subtractor and fiddling with the attack and release then automating the synced rate on the lfo.
thanks everyone.

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could give me a quick rundown on how to make some of the sounds found in a lot of Dillon Francis songs. I have found that most of his basses are actually pretty simple, but I can't quite get the right sound.
These are a couple of examples of the sounds I am looking for:
^ And in this one, I am specifically looking at the initial drop bass (0:51).
Any other tips and tricks to making sounds similar would be appreciated as well!
Pegboard Nerds sound, how to do this one?

I tried for ages to create something that sounds like the main growl/wobble in this Pegboard Nerds track, but I just can't get close to the original.
Does anybody have an idea how this sound is created? I'm talking about the 'main wobble' right after the drop. (at 0:37)
Thanks a lot!!

Okay thank you for the advice, I've been reading the Reese Bass Thread as well, and they have been saying similar tips over there. But was the order for the FX that I listed in the comment you replied to roughly the FX chain that you use to achieve you Basses?
How to Create Stabby Saw Wobble

I am looking to create this stabby saw wooble.
I have been working on this for a while but can't find a way to make it full and less robotic.
Do anyone have a clue how to remake the sub bass at 0:30? Kick with reverb?

How to make Icicle style stabs?

I know this has probably been discussed hundreds of times but I havn't been able to find much more than square waves with an envelope controlling the low pass, no attack, quick decay. Doing this, though you do get a good sound, it's not quite what i'm going for. Here's an example,
The stabs that comes in at 0:26 on the first beat of every bar. and also when it drops how does he get the second and third stab to sound so twisted. All the stabs just sound so organic and complex than mine haha. Any tips at all would be apreciated.
Cheers!

Multiple detuned saw waves ran through a daft / lp filter with a stab like envelope to the cutoff, tweak it a bit, just add some resonance. Distort it pre filter, raise the number of voices and play minor chords, power chords or two octaves. Or just a single note, whatever sounds best. Just make sure you have enough harmonics. Then send it to a reverb aux.
