Still think you're more likely to go there than 95% of the 'clubs' in LDN though.
Oh god yeah there are a million worse places you could go saying all this.
I think some folk lose site of that when there are so many sick nights like System/Dmz etc.
Its also def the first place people ask me if ive been to it when speaking to anyone outside london intrested in clubbing etc.

I'm sure he'd much rather live in Tehran, or Harare, or Islamabad or Dhaka or Hartlepool etc than live in London with its shit clubs like Fabric.

So a lot of the people who go are shit, the drinks are unaffordable, the bouncers are bastards and the lineups usually focussed on Room 2, but it has a really good..... front door? Roof? Cloakroom? Actually, the floor is kind of cool. I'd definitely recommend Fabric to a travelling floor enthusiast.

I've always figured that "superclubs" would be more bearable if I was on a Balaeric island surrounded by bikini clad ladies... I can totally see why people go to Ibiza for Space or wherever, but Farringdon... it seems like a tourist trap for people who've had their passports confiscated, tbh...

^^^^^^
Or a tourist trap for the 27 million tourists London gets every year

Fabric was really good a few years back before the smoking ban, good soundsystems, interesting building/layout, good DJ's, quite easy to get to. Seems the main problem now is it's just got too famous so people not really into the music turn up to say they've been- one of the 'to do' things on a London visit

Dunno why so many people hate on fabric so much. It is what it is so if you expect something else and get upset then you only have yourself to blame for it's shitness.

Cable is where the hate should be directed.

lol wtf?

I just really don't enjoy fabric, why is that such an issue? Granted there are far worse clubs in london but I dont go to them either... Given the choice between fabric and somewhere deemed worse than fabric i'll just stay at home and have a spliff and/or wank, I'm sure there will be a decent lineup at a club I actually like within the next week or two so it's hardly a loss

If anything thats the beauty of London, there are plenty of sick nights to go to that don't involve spending an evening surrounded by twats and being asked every 5 seconds if I'm selling pills

Eeeeexxxxactly.

London's big enough so that you don't HAVE to go to the tourist traps and meat markets to have a night out. If I still lived where I grew up, I'd have a choice of 2 clubs each weekend - one that wants to be Ministry of Sound, but is actually a 500 capacity meatmarket dive with trance music and special offers on WKD and another one for "everyone else", which was actually a 500 capacity meatmarket dive with indie music and special offers on Aftershock... the idea of a coach trip to somewhere like London to go to Fabric would be, frankly, fucking amazing.

But I live in London and so am peppered with flyers for better venues than Fabric every time I leave the house. I think about going to Fabric about as often as I think about going to see The Changing of the Guard.

Sorry, that was directed at the writer of the article, who was saying London is the worst place in the world, rather than at you mate.

I'm not saying you have to love Fabric, nobody has to love anything because somebody else says they do, I just know that you would much prefer to go there than say Tiger Tiger Leicester Square or Sway in Holburn or Punch & Judys in Covent Garden etc etc. Obviously you dont HAVE to go anywhere, but say you had to choose I know you'd choose Fabric over them shitholes.

Maybe its just the 4 or 5 times I've been, I havent gone to a majorly busy night and its actually been pretty decent. Room 2 & Room 3 are pretty sick, decent system, decent line-ups. I just dont see the reason for the hate.

I have only been to London maybe 6/7 times in my life (maybe a few more if just passing through) so I can't really comment on a lot of this, but this article seems fairly tongue in cheek anyway. I found it quite entertaining.

For all forum Londonions, do you agree?
Fuck the article. never really read vice - but I work in the building next to them... they have the best coffee place in London.

re fabric: its shit due to posers and prices. But the system is second to none & the music is often very god. Rob Booth runs a lot of it now doesn't he?

Bike (and general petty) theft, crowding and not being all that easy to get to decent countryside would top my list.

High cost is just a cliche from tourists and people that don't know better. Don't drink or watch cinema in the west end/travel without oyster card/live in zone 1 if you aren't earning a lot. There are plenty of City workers on huge wages and plenty of tourist traps so you just need to avoid the places that have prices aimed at them.

People moan about high rent costs but move to London and live somewhere like Islington or Clapham with the rest of the 20 something middle class graduates. If they just went a bit out to places like Norwood, Sydenham, Forest Hill, Brockley sort of places they could be paying loads less. Who pays £495pw to live in zone 1 and moans about cost?!? That's like moaning about how expensive your Ferrari is rather than just getting a normal car like the majority of people. I paid less than that per month for a 1 bedroom place in Forest Hill (and paid half that as was sharing with my girlfriend)

Paying a fortune in Clapham atm, looking at Stratford/Leyton now... wayyyyyyyyy cheaper

Yeah, I don't mind Clapham but it has become a bit of a ghetto for young professionals that have just moved to London which has pushed the rental prices really high. Similar areas that just have a normal mix of Londoners living there tend to be loads cheaper.

sigh, how can you londoners nag and whinge? At least you guys can go to all the good shows, and hear Rinse on the radio, and take trains out to Burmingham or wherever the fuck and participate in proper shows. I get to live in a flat ass prarie town of 1 million in which i have no hope of ever seeing a proper dark show, plus i had to go to a high school that consisted mostly of asians and their really really cool snapbacks.
Plus your guys' slang is to die for. can anyone tell me what a bellend, speng and munter are ? i've been running around town callin people plebs n wastemen but every1 just looks puzzled, rather than properly insulted :?
i'm not dickriding,
