Yes J its wicked to hear your back. I remember listening to your show on a saturday thru my NTL box, wickedness.
A couple of weeks ago at FWD (I think it was when Oris Jay was there) I asked Amy if she could think about booking him, cos its been long time since I last heard him in a rave. She made an agreeing sort of noise and most likely ignored me, but if we make enough noise maybe we can get him there thru public demand?
Next time u go FWD, as you're paying ure money ask for Jay Da to play ASAP. It might work...

Really looking forward to hearing J again. I was gutted when they pulled the plug on Underground Knowledge.
The show introduced me to dubstep and DMZ, it was a great mix of music.

I have a tape recording of the show that I think got JDa the 1xtra job. In 2001 he did a guest mix for the Dreem Teems Sunday Night Grave Yard show (not the R&B morning one). Femme Fatale did a guest slot on the same show and she got a job as well. Hot Sound got a show (lasted a year) cause they were on HLC's show 2 or 3 times, Target replaced HLC because he covered for the Garage DJ's when they were on holiday, and presumably 1Xtra didn't like the fact that Fonti was playing less current Garage and more Funky House. That seems to be how 1Xtra recruit people. Kiss did the same for Crazy D, giving him 4 practice shows then bringing him and Hatcha onboard a few months later.
But to get back to my main point. This 40 minute mix was unbelieveable, and the BBC obviously took note and then gave him work experience covering for John Peel, and finally the 1Xtra show. It won't be hard for me to get the tape onto CD and then onto the PC, and I have editing software (Cool Edit Pro), but the problem is is that the mix is on 2 sides of a tape. I could fade out side one into side two, no problem. But how could I join those 2 files together to make a single 40 minute file. What software lets you do this?
It would have to be the cheapest & the most basic as my PC has hardly any space left on it, but it would have to be easy to use as I have bought cheap software before and never understood how to use them.
Secondly how would I get this file online. I don't have Limewire, and there's got to be a better way to do it than that. Something more permanent. This mix is basically of dark Bassline garage and although there's peaks and troughs, it just starts and finishes so perfectly, probably the best DJ mix I've heard.

Google for Audacity - freeware which you can use for recording audio onto your PC
You can host the mix using the following:
sendspace.com
megaupload.com
yousendit.com
there are millions of freehosting sites.....

Recording isnt the problem, I can connnect my Hi Fi CD recorder direct to my PC. And the thing about making the fades a nice transition, can be done on Cool Edit Pro easy. All I want is a programme that lets me joins two CD or MP3 files and merges them into one. Does Audacity do that

If you have Cool Edit Pro installed, use that?
Copy Second part, past at end of first part?
