It's not how I work, but it isn't beyond understanding that some people might like to work that way. Some EDM outfits are duos and that seems to be fine with people. There are even some trios... again that seems to be fine with people. But if someone needs 4 all the sudden that is weird?

And as for reaching out to random people - that is no different than bands who advertise looking for a bassist in classified ads in magazines/papers.

Actually a good friend of mine is working as a duo with another friend of mine, and hes doing all the melodical work in their tracks while the other makes beats, handles mixes etc etc.
The first guy says he actually hates most really technical aspects of production and even whiles he used to be pretty good drummer, hates making beats. He just wants to lay out chords and jam a bit, and its working out very well for them. I dont really work with anyone at this point myself, but i dislike the melodical side of things while i can get hack away at a single drumloop for hours. Producers have preferences too right, whats so weird about that?

I was kind of hoping for some examples of their work like Wub asked in the second post.

Even making electronic music wih 4 people is basically a band setting. If all 4 have different strengths and want to focus on them to get the best out of it they should do it

i've stopped making music a long time ago my friend, and if i did then i would of not been of any benefit as 1 i suck 2 i aint good enough 3 too busy to do gigs and be involved in something serious

They really should have been more clear on what the role of the 4th person would be, then there probably would have been a lot more interest
