LEGO Website wrote:If the LEGO trademark is used at all, it should always be used as an adjective, not as a noun. For example, say "MODELS BUILT OF LEGO BRICKS". Never say "MODELS BUILT OF LEGOs".Also, the trademark should appear in the same typeface as the surrounding text and should not be isolated or set apart from the surrounding text. In other words, the trademarks should not be emphasized or highlighted. Finally, the LEGO trademark should always appear with a ® symbol each time it is used.

But to me it will always be LEGOs - and I used to play with nothing but those things, still have hundreds of LEGOs at my moms house...

LEGO has become a kind of collective noun for "all of the various bits you get in LEGO kits".
For example, you get LEGO men/women, LEGO roads, LEGO bricks etc. But you can refer to the whole thing as LEGO. In common language, the brand name has become the collective term.
Would you say "ouch I just stepped on a LEGO"? I wouldn't... maybe "ouch...a LEGO brick", or "ouch...some LEGO"
However, I'd be willing to accept LEGO's as a collective term, at a push, as that's kind of like "We all sat down and ate our McDonald's".
But LEGOS? Sounds well wrong to me.
Oh well, you can't try and put limits on the growth and mutation of language. If you do that you might as well become a French politician.

You can, but you have to pull the bottom half off to make a hole.

all the people calling it 'leggo' obviously don't know shit. if you can't spell it properly to begin with, i wouldn't trust your theory on the plural of LEGO!
