As promised, I got my sound foam, bass traps and monitor decouplers set up, so here is an update about my KRK Rokit 10-3's
They sound like 100x better than they even previously did, so great.
Everything is so clear, great stereo image as well.
Really decent monitors compared to the previous KRK Rokit crap.

These are my first monitors so I do not have much reference but I think they sound great loaded up a knife party song and everything sound great, but I dont know much.... I think for the price it was a good buy

lol evidently. That's a really solid deal though, can't be too disappointed for that price. I'd flip em on ebay if I were you.

Just made a huuuge upgrade to my monitoring. I've had KRK v8's for almost 10 years now, know them inside and out, but as my mastering and mixing business has developed, I've been grappling with their limitations for a while now. Just ordered the Neumann kh310's on a two week demo period. Once they arrive and I've had a chance to work with them for a bit I'll report back, but I'm super excited.

Yeah I think I've heard of Knob Goblin' Mastering before.
Those Neumanns are sex. Doubt I'll ever own anything close to that. What's the rest of your setup like?

For mastering, I use Lavrey converters, Thermionic Culture Phoenix, Bettermaker EQ, Rupert Neve Designs MAster Buss Processor, sometime I'll use the Retro 2a3 eq or the elysia xpressor from the mixing rack. For mixing, we use the Antelope Orion for conversion, a SSL xdesk and a bunch of 500 series eqs and compressors. Plus a space echo re501 and lexicon 300 for fx. Currently we have 14 channels of outboard eq and compression with a compressor on the masterbus. I'll take a pic and upload it to the take a photo of your setup thread when I get back from the thanksgiving holiday.

I'm using Infinity Reference 2000.2s. Realtalk I'm not even sure if these things are real monitors (there's like no info on these things on the internet) but, well at least for me they're accurate enough for most mixing. My headphones are Grado SR-60i's and while I personally think they sound sick (if a bit top-heavy) they're too inaccurate for most mixing stuff tbh.

Ah sweet another thread where someone recommends Rokits as the best and then everyone else comes in to correct them.
Ha....
I have Alesis 620. Far from the best, but I got them on a steal, so deal with it.

Headphones -to me- are easily the best bang/buck solution for 80% of the 'home studios'.
It amazes me how people choose advantages like proper stereo field and representation
of reverb that monitors have over headphones, when it means they have to listen to
mixes that are colored in all the bad ways imaginable by the room they are in.
In the end, there's no perfect solution, but if you have like 400 quid to spend, get a pair of good
headphones and pay some bills.
