haha, nah I'm not saying choruses are hopeless though, just that they're not necessary either
the more I look at the SP the more tempted I am...

Swear to god I responded to that post today... fucking hell, really losing it.
As syncopated Todd Terry-esque snares buckled under strain of an interminable arpeggio line, there was a brief flash of stasis—as there is in all the best dance floor records—in which you didn't know what the fuck was going to happen next.
The stasis!

Dude, pick up an sp if you like really durty hand banged beats. There is a sequencer in there, but fuck that, just resample and hand drum, and resample and layer and resample and layer... you will be amazed. And whats more, you'll be like, oh, so thats why x did y, and z did r. You'll hear what all the greats were doing. Why they did what they did.

yeah I'm looking to see if I can get it even cheaper second hand atm. would have to wait a bit though i think, got a trip abroad coming up thats just taken away a lot of my monies
hahaha the stasis, but thats the most under-rated thing in music though i think. lots of people focus more on the "drop" than the build up to it, which imo is the wrong way to go about it. then again that might be just cos i like moving forward when producing, i know many people have more of a non-linear way of doing things

Yeah, on phone at petting zoo, will link later, but check weditit collective.
I'd imagine you're already down with this, relatively from your part of the world.
Scary thing about the second track on there, Incandescence, has moments that are verbatim similar to a track I was working on called Saltwater Moonlight. Very different kind of song, mine was from like the 50's in the Louisiana bayou. But it is one of those things like, are we both manifesting the same thing in very different ways? Scary actually.

yea ive heard the name ylem a few times
perth has a MASSIVE underground hiphop scene, and i can see good things coming from those ways in the next couple years.
heres a few of my hip hop style beats at various stages of completion...
would love some feedback from the heads such as yourselves, seeing as we're on the topic...
ive been experimenting with more and more of this sort of stuff and theyre all quite different from each other..
I like the vibe you're going for man, first beat especially was nice. you got a good grasp of melody, use that to good extent! also, am i just tripping or did one of those tunes have a nice guitar sample? cos i cant seem to find it now, but i swear i just heard a beat with a nice spanish guitar playing through
new one from reverb and myself:

yeah dude the guitar in the first tune 'kilter' is me recording my mate dean playing guitar into my interface and on my sounds tab on my sc page, the tune 'roque' is the one with the crazy flamenco spanish bizz going on..
that was my mate roque, i mic'd up his acoustic and made the beat and recorded him playing over it!
thanks for the listens bro! much <3
im at work now but ill try and remember to lurk your tunes when i get home.
bueno!
