grime is a product of the ghettos of london. white middle class kids whether they be in manchester or fucking texas - who r in limbo before taking on their first "serious" jobs - i personally dont believe can ever genuinely contribute or create a scene which has the same ferocity as grime.
There are poor black people in other parts of the country that make grime. You can't say Virus syndicate aren't as real as any of there Southern counterparts.

I've heard some badman emcees from Leeds way as well.

And easy on the middle class white people bashing- you are on a dubstep forum.
i dont know much about virus syndicate so im not going to say anything. my personal philosophy is if im not a direct part of the scene in its original phase - then im not a part of it. i may be inspired by the sounds of the grime / dubstep / jungle - whatever - but i make MY OWN sound... call it wot u will. thats why i can never understand people who are abroad or in bumpkin territory claiming they are in the grime scene when they actually do not know anyone, or have contributed any music to, or played out to people at the core of that scene. take it how u want really.

Unless I'm completely missing something then the grime scene in Belfast, N Ireland is completely non existant...

There are also poor white kids in other parts of the country to that make grime, but hey lets not turn this into a race debate

"grime is a product of the ghettos in london" yes grime did start of in london, but after becoming known it spread to other parts of the country and then other parts of the world.thats when it changed.look at grime say 5 years ago and look at it now.Alot of the old original grime mcs are mooving to dubstep as grime is not the same its not about what it used to be about.its shit.
My opinion is alot of people like this music when it came out but they liked it to much so they felt the need to try and start mcin or djin themselves...witched mashed up the scene.
Dont get me wrong there are a few good mc's out now like proffesor green, but still the beats arnt the same at all and thats why i dont listen to it as its not the same as it was 5 years ago.
The london grime scene is ok, but most of it is rubbish and not alot of it is good.
WA GWAN WITH ALL THE PRODUCERS???????

my local grime scene mainly consists of people MC-ing over tracks on their phones in college

a lot of them are shit

however i do hear a few good bars as i walk down corridor, but they're pretty unusual
