you're talking about a service job, where you should be nice, as you're providing a service to others.

i dont mean holding a door open for someone whose like 10 metres away just making sure it doesn't close on their face if they are right behind you, and saying thanks if someone does the same for you. It doesn't take any extra energy to not be a tnuc.

i'll say thanks if someone gives me something, holds the door open...whatever. i'll hold the door open for people when its close..but do i expect a thank you? fuck no. it doesn't make you any sort of rude by not acknowledging the other person. if you're (not anyone in particular) doing those things for credit, fuck off imo.

having "good manors" doesn't make you a vagina, but taking it personally when others dont definitely does.
