If I had done everything big scary black men had told me too in music I would have assaulted lots of people, beaten up women and killed some homosexuals.

Gun chat can sound brilliant, don't mean you have to start carrying a weapon. Lyrics have always been full of posturing.

I guess it's hard to swallow how certain individuals believe that violence is a good way of solving a conflict.

Surely you don't think that direct intent of violence in a lyric is the same as violent content in a computer game or a film. Quite apart from the cultural cachet that emcees have as opposed to film or computer games the fact that it is first person delivery and supposedly based upon the reality of a life as lived makes it entirely different.
