Eh, essentially ig. Rap artists release them for free in between albums and such.

More like free albums than "mixes"

I would go as far as to say that big rap artists release good material on mixtapes, whereas on albums they have execs choose their beats and the release suffers from it. There's also less concern as to what samples or beats etc are used.
Case in point 50cent,Lil Wayne and so on.

True. For example, Gucci is definitely more of a mixtapes man.
Trap House 3 was dope tho.

From 2013? Hm lemme think...bear in mind theres a lot that I havent gotten around to listening to yet that I'm sure I'd include if I had (eg Blue Chips 2)
Just a few things that came to mind, I'm sure I'm forgetting some. No particular order:
DuFlocka Rant 2 Halftime Show - Waka
All three of the WW3 mixtapes by Gucci
Life of a Savage 3 - SD
The Luca Brasi Story - Kevin Gates (Highly recommend this, I still need to check the other tape he released this year
6ix Commandments - Da Mafia 6ix (Three 6 Mafia)
Kismet - Mr. MFN Exquire
Lords of Flatbush - The Underachievers
1017 Thug - Young Thug
Shadowed Diamond - Key Nyata
Raider Klan Greatest Hits Vol. 2
BMW - Spaceghostpurrp
Innanetape - Vic Mensa
Also no, I havent heard Beach House 2.

cool and thanks, will check that out.
Ty dolla$ Beach house 1& 2 is 'ratchet' rnb or whatever you want to call it.
Funny lyrics and catchy melodies, but he actually sings really good compared with a lot of the rnb people that get play on the radio.
Like in a gospel oldschool soul kind of way. Highly recommended.

Yeah def one of my favorites. Wish they hadn't put Bank$ verse at the end tho....to sharp of a difference in style between Simmie and Curry who just tear that track up.
Nell would suit the track well, because he has that energetic rapping style.
