Still a tune I wish came out or was given away for free. Such a classic to me. Hatcha always playing it on Kiss.

he never said that.
you realise that's just nme's headline and Benga never actually used those words? he retires from his "djing career". maybe he even continues to produce and churn out tunes, who knows.
exactly. didn't rate his output over the last few years, but he's so talented that i'd be surprised if he wouldn't continue to produce stuff for other artists. plus you have to keep gettin 'em checks, right?

Rated Benga since I first saw him in 2006, Newstep album, Southside EP, Crunked Up and even Night are still some of the defining tunes throughout Dubstep. Such bangers. Last few years ain't been to my taste, but still sad to see him give up part of that.

Benga was a really decent DJ back in the day as well. I don't think I've seen him play since 2008 though lol so may have gone massively downhill

Sad news, such a great producer and DJ. I was lucky enough to see him play a few years ago, hope he continues production.
I wish all the best for the dude, massive respect for him.

So how much cash did he stack? Is he like retired, the checks keep coming in, he sits in his lawn chair? Or is he going to get some job in IT?

fuck yeah
earliest gig in Sydney was great tunes, huge smiles & the best time
by the time he came back in 08?,
even before bro and the big deal,
he was ...ah, overwhelmed.
Hope he made some dough & can find peace away from the music business.
