ffs i need this record and i know there's bare copies out there. did a discogs order the other day of some punch drunk records that turned out to be from pev himself, tried messaging him asking if he had any, no reply haha

i'm not saying labels shouldn't repress their stuff, oviously that's their own choice. but i really got the impression many fans and labels tend to panic over discogs prices. just because a record hasn't been sold for 2 months on there doesn't mean it's completely rare now. and just because some stnuc put it up for 60 quids doesn't mean it's "worth" that much all of a sudden.
if you've slept on a release (especially new stuff) that's been available for weeks, you should have the patience to wait a couple more until a good offer pops up. so far i've gotten everything on discogs for very good prices (including old dmz and medi).
another point: some people on a forum or on facebook aren't an indicator for heavy demand. if you press another 500, chances are 50 people buy it straight away and the rest sits on the shelves for years.

collecting vinyl is all about patience. people seem to forget that rather quickly. just enjoy having a hobby that goes against the "want it ALL and want it NOW" philosophy that flows through pretty much everything else at the moment.

really good point. if everything was always available it would loose a lot of the fun aspect. plus i think i would be even more skint than now (if that's even possible).

Also if you look at the records he's selling and check out the sales history you'll often find the highest ever sale price is less than half what he's asking.

He's not giving anything for his service, all he's doing is preventing people from owning the copies of records he owns and then taking a large amount of money to allow them to have it, what a tnuc.
