I've always related the notion of Psychopathy to Psychosis, which I understand to mean, if not relate to, Schizophrenia.
Is that correct?

psychosis is one of the most obvious symptoms of schizo, so yeah they're pretty closely related. its a state of mind. psychopathy is more like a personality trait.

Doesn't a diagnosis of Schizophrenia depend on analysis of the traits of the subject's personality?

i mean in more of a diagnostic sense. schizophrenia being a problem with thinking and mood and psychopathy being closer to a personality issue.
but yeah i'd bet they take all those things into account before making a diagnosis

Isn't thought imperative to personhood though?
In terms of what you described as psychopathy earlier, is their diagnosis not rooted in the way they think and feel about their actions? Are their actions not rooted in the way they think and feel?

i meant like a more fundamental way of approaching psychology. google the dsm. that's the way psychologists categorize mental issues. it might be a somewhat arbitrary way of making the categories and that's definitely something you can take issue with, but i didn't make the rules lol.
