Oh really? I don't know the details I just have heard him talk about it positively a lot. I am kind of surprised to be honest as I thought it was something he got into ages back

Lynch advocates the use of Transcendental Meditation in bringing peace to the world.[136] He was initiated into Transcendental Meditation in July 1973, and has practiced the technique consistently since then.[137][138] Lynch says he met Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of the TM movement, for the first time in 1975 at the Spiritual Regeneration Movement center in Los Angeles, California.[139][140] He reportedly became close with Maharishi during a month-long "Millionaire's Enlightenment Course" held in 2003, the fee for which was US$1 million.[14

I remember an interview where Lynch said the reason why it took him six years to do Eraserhead was because he kept running out of money, yet he had a million to spend on meditation?

I hate how the whole TM thing is a proper business now though, heartless as fuck

Well - Here is America - black people are like mice...

Unless - they are from Connecticut...

Yes, lots... but meditation can be achieved lots of different ways. There's no need to be an incense burning George Harrison wannabe stretching like Dhalsim from Street Fighter... just learn how to clear your mind however works for you. It's incredibly balancing. :w:

Yes , but unfortunately meditation is one word in English so research obfuscates what method does what. Generally,, meditation is considered otherworldly, like trancendental stuff, while stuff like zazen isn't really anything like that.

lol DS with the jokes, have you read 'catching the big fish'?

it's a great read, but I find it much harder to buckle down and meditate now, for obvious reasons. When I was living in Hawaii I was doing 2 1/2 hours of yoga and meditating for an hour every day! it's such a beautiful place for that, very conducive for ZEN, on the mainland it's such a rat race, harder to let go and just let in that special place, there's a buzzing everywhere you look, beyond every corner, and with all the frustrating issues the world is suffering from, it's less conducive to relaxation and meditation IMO.

also,
