The article didn't say whether there was a needle or not. It didn't really seem like that bad/sensationalist of an article tbh. Not sure why everyone got so upset about it.

Can you actually use heroin recreationally?
Yes, of course.
Luckily, the amount of heroin I use is harmless, I inject about once a month on a purely recreational basis. Fine. But what about other people less stable, less educated, less middle-class than me? Builders or blacks for example. If you're one of those, my advice is leave well alone. Good luck.

I do reckon there are lots of recreational heroin users though (maybe majority?), same with other opiates, meth, or benzos or whatever, not everyone who uses them are junkies. If you do it every weekend could you be considered a junkie?

part of the problem also lies in labelling them as junkies imo, cos no one wants to admit that they fall into that category even though they are well and truly addicted. this encourages them to continually use the drug in high amounts while being too ignorant/scared/ashamed to really talk to anyone about their problem. there's too much of a negative connotation to that word and the image it portrays

none of this is new.
I want to say let's not talk about this - but that may be wrong.
Let's talk about what would make going to work
for 8-12 hours a day a decent experience.

if you actually limit it to every weekend then i'd say you're good imo. but i know some people who do certain things "every weekend", and what it almost invariably becomes is "i do a bag every weekend
BUT when i have some left over because i
(purposefully) bought too much, i'll just finish it off on sunday.... and then on monday....and then tuesday....and wednesday....and thursday.......and then time for another bag!"
(not talking bout heroin but same concept applies)

I knew I had a problem when I found myself in a different city on a Wednesday…
...that was acting as a Friday
...cause you know I had just woken up from Sunday…
so yeah - I get that.
I have never messed with a needle…
but I was completely out of control there for a minute.
We had double stacked chocolate chip groovers…
and red turbos. OMG was it fun….
sounded like….Doc Martin

I'm super-sober now…
You have to get through it.
So devastating when someone doesn't.

Physically demanding, but not destructive or totally depleting work, wherein you make a positive impact for your clients/community by creative problem solving?
Can definitely say it is not making rich fucks richer through the destruction of your body, your community, the world, or random innocent people.

I'm sorry, but aren't you unemployed?
Also, considering how big the drug industry is, it stands to reason that your statement is false.
