I have noticed the opposite. A growing punk-like attitude and sound in house and techno.
Could be me just finding new music, but that's not every case.
There's always more bands that are really good live than you can listen to in 10 lifetimes I think.
The pop 'music' industry has just been focusing more on things other than musical talent as compared
to 40 years ago. That shows on stage, where there is no engineers meticulously editing and polishing
mediocre recordings.
(off-topic: I'm getting tired of formatting my comments properly in the edit window and finding
them looking like word jumbles when submitted. Fairly sure it's a problem with the new layout on
13" Macbook screens)
