cool racism/homophobia argument
but you say there is not a catalog of moves but there are (you fucking posted a video where they break down some of the moves) the improvisation is just on top of that
also that dance is an evolution of slower juke/jit dancing that was becoming increasingly competitive & the best way to make it more competitive was to increase the speed
so the footworking music actually came after the footworking, just because the dancers were asking for something quicker to dance to
so, you actually can't "get" footwork (music) w/o "getting" footworking because without footworking, there would be no music

It's like the improvisational jazz of dance. Tempo of the music happens to be
silly high

Yea you can, if you found out about footwork music first. Doesn't matter which came first it just matters what order you discover them in.

I was going off what you said that it was more meant to be freestyle and improvised. Anyways, just some of moves look like a kid having a fit. (like the bit where you move your leg back and do the ankle thing that I mentioned earlier, str8 8 y/o not getting ice cream moves))

Also I think footwork dance looks cool as fuck, the way they stutter around with the 4t triplet kicks/snares is cool

I performed to MADONNA's "VOGUE" in the Summer of 1991 when my parents took me to Hampton Beach Casino in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. A business in the casino at the time gave tourists the chance to lip-synch to their favorite pop songs in front of a blue screen background, and I was lucky enough to partake that summer.
In honor of the twentieth anniversary of MADONNA's "TRUTH OR DARE" and in celebration of MADONNA's upcoming "W.E.", here is my nine year old self paying tribute to the woman who changed my life and continues to inspire me just as much today as twenty years ago.

you hear juuke in that video?
about your post before, just think of it as old chicago footwork but the evolved version,, as I said beffore if you check the tim & barry docu you can have most of this explained
edit; I don't care aabout jump/gabber/those awkward dnb moves, don't go around ssaying they're silly either, they look silly to me because I'm not into having to dance a certain way to a certain genre, I think footwork is a bit different because there's more improv in it, I find some of it way over the top but can appreciate it

The Japs are way better at it imo, you can tell right away the style is much more coherent and they are less spazzy/more technical in a considerably shorter amount of time being involved in it.
I predict at least one Asian faction will crush footwork just like Koreans ruined breakdancing for the world.

Im not judging it as an expert, in a competition or in a battle,or in a way that I feel my opinion should be a baseline/standard of what people think about it... im trying to form a personal opinion and understand it more. Seems weird to me that you cant "judge" footwork for yourself to form your own opinion about it like every single other thing in life, on this planet, and in the history of mankind itself. What special veto/exemption does footwork have over everyone in the world that no one can try to attempt to think anything about unless they do it first?
Unless hes taking about a massive scenester/poser phenom where all these people that don't dance are trying to judge competitions/battles. In which case, I agree with him.
