looked up the california law, only applies to colleges, and consent can be non verbal, through actions, like same as ever surely
seems like a good idea in putting emphasis on being careful to gain consent rather than on victim having to prove she said no
i don't see this changing the risk of false rape charges, it'd still be one person's word against another, and ultimate issue is that this seems like impossible to enforce and probably won't change anything at all
but it's not actually some nationwide law that requires you to say 'do you wish to proceed to sexual intercourse'

girls need to protect themselves by not getting super drunk and by sticking with friends and guys need to stop acting like they have dominion of girls and can make decisions for them. At uni, at least with the people I hang out with on the weekends, guys who prey on the super drunk chicks aren't "lad" or any of that shit...they're fucking creeps.
