I read an interview with Youngsta a long time ago where he was talking about the Twisup remix and how apart from that he hasn't had enough time to serious work on production.

My only issue is that Youngsta is a lot more selective over who he plays... quality control i suppose.

i mostly meant youngsta i think he is certainly a "dj dj" (good phrase). he has done a remix, and he does mess about in the studio from time to time, but you cant say he's made his mark as a producer. he's more committed to his DJing and smoking really. mostly smoking. he's not that close to finishing anything off, he kind of starts stuff but never sees it through. but being such a perfectionist with a good ear im sure when something does eventually surface it'll be big stuff. with lots of space.Ashley wrote:Funny that cos they both produce too.howstrange wrote:hear hear!Corpsey wrote:Yeah there should be more DJ DJs I reckon, although there are some sick producer DJs of course.

best dj in the scene imo for sheer technical ability.
he mixes like i wish i could mix, if that makes sense... more than anyone else in this sound, both selction wise and the way he builds things.
he's like the randall of dubstep, razor sharp skills and deep headstrong selection.
sound guy as well.

I see where your commin from but other "dj dj's" include Chef and Hatcha too!
But then...Youngsta, Chef, Hatcha and N-Type have all produced before..is that the key to getting bookings? To produce?
Get booked for what you mix, not neccessarily how you mix?

Youngsta is sick, but not a better DJ than N-Type. doesnt really matter, I guess they're friends anyways

every set i've ever heard him played is sick. although with his recent sets i wish he would stay darker and deeper. his sets are also really good archives of what dubstep sounds like at the time.

some of his plates are just fucking dumb..the way he draws for mala dubs like everyones got a copy...then merks it...abselutly sick.
