I love Spirited Away, this wasn't as good as that but still visually astonishing. So much imaginative energy and attention to detail.
hayao miyazaki - he da man.

yeah some of the gore and "shocking" visuals where cool, but the story made no sense, i dont even remember much of a plot...the joey gand thing was lame.

i don't think the 'story' was actually important ;)
it was just history of violence ;)

I liked History of Violence up until the end showdown, which was plain dumb...it gets props for the cheerleader and the stairs scenes!

I read thr comic as wll, and it was ok..i think it was all a little overhyped..

Completely agree.
Watched them both in the same weekend.
Hostel was very disappointing.

Stay as far away from Mi:III if you hate mainstream hollywood action no-brainers. I had little expection, but the film was soooo lame...not even the Action was satisfying.
I wonder, why did i watch this shit?

That's about what I expected. Especially after what John Woo did to part II.....He's a great director and all, but subtlty is not his strong point...and that's what makes a good spy thriller, imo (like Part I, or both of the Bourne movies).

Yeah, it looks amazing..it's also known as Wonderful Days..i was a bit let down with the story though..

I saw Howl recently, really enjoyed it..Miyazaki can't do much wrong for me..

I watched Nightwatch the other day..the 1st part of a trilogy..was quite impressed..a different take on the vampire genre.
