I am a hardcore dj (not happy) and i LOVE playing dubstep. Too bad I can not play it more at raves, I usually drop the dub at the 21+ club nights that pop off around here.

I duno if this is true, i have heard several people say this. But even if Dubstep is slowed down dnb then i couldnt care less. The only thing i care about is the fact i love Dubstep. Allso i hate dnb its way to fast to dance to imo it just sounds crap, the only thing i find that has any merit about dnb is that it is piss easy to mix. Every dnb tune i have heard sounds like the next, like the beat allways seems the same, just with some different samples in them, as apossed to Dubstep you have 4x4 beats half step 2step all the wobbles and different sounding bass sounds, mabe im wrong about my statement on all dnb tunes sounding the same, becoz i have only listened to a little of it. I.E when listening to a garage set or wot not and they decide to start playing dnb, i listen for a bit but just cant handle how crap it sounds, Especilly when you can see the dj playing the dnb, they either sort of stand still no body movement or they bop thier head up and down at 100mph to the beats, makes me crease up
and please dnb heads dont go gettin all offended and pissy bout what i wrote. Coz no offence intended.

Before I start I aint being pissy just wanna question what you're saying hehe You could say that mate but thats why you can categorize it , just like you can categorize most forms of music no matter how irrelevant they are. i.e. Thats Techno music, thats folk music etc etc.

A lot of DnB does have a similar drum pattern, but so does Dubstep. Thats why you can say "Half-Step, 2-Step, 4/4"

And then every so often you get something with a different beat structure and something interesting, and usually they're the keepers!

If you feel that way about DnB I should make a mix and see if I can surprise you with something a bit different

there is no point arguing whatsoever. there is a point listening to dubstep if you like dubstep and listening to something else if you like something else though. there is no universal truth about which music is the crappiest (I've heard people say that dnb is all the same stuff repeating, then I've heard it some more about dubstep, then I've realized I've been hearing this all the way about every single music genre. I say let the hatred begin, I personally love to hate)

hardcore is shit. dubstep has at least 2 more drums, making it at least 3 times as good by my calculations

frist time i came across happyhardcore a mate n i walk into a packed club wasted off our bricks saw and heard the vibe of it all colapsed with hysterical laughter till our sides hurt and we had to leave , so i think they can have there opinnion cos if there into that shit best they stay well away from dubstep, i can image what they would wana do with it

hehe, i agree
it's not the high pitched vocals or cheesey synths i dont like about happy hardcore, it's the lack of drums and a big bassline

i couldn't be arsed to read everything... but i'm inclined to let the happy hardcore people dislike dubstep if they want, and for the reason of samey-ness... because when i first started listenin to happy hardcore i thought it all sounded the same and when i first started listenin to GABBA i could only take it for 5 minutes at a time. but i persevered with both, which is what these happy hardcore dj brehs haven't bothered to do, cos they have no need to be into dubstep. if they did they'd notice differences between tunes and wouldn't mock it anymore. you don't need to work yourself up over an uninformed opinion.

I always think of that as hardcore rather than happy hardcore which I always think of as that boingy stuff for 13 year olds.

i'unno... i kinda categorise it by 'hmmm... this sounds happy' lol. shit they CLAIM is happy hardcore these days... boy. happy hardcore doesn't exist anymore cos that shit does NOT sound happy.
