I'd be happy with the bit that's on youtube at some kind of decent quality just looping round for eternity. I don't think it could disappoint (though that's possible exactly the point you were making.)

Yeah, pretty much. See, I love the loop. But the rest of the tune, the shit we haven't heard, can't possibly live up to that loop.

The way I see it, when you hear a snippet of an unreleased tune, you often hear the best part, but you tend to almost forget that the song is more than that snippet and you build it up in your head so much to the point where the rest just won't work.

Yeah I definitely see where you're coming from. It's like a film trailer of something you really want to see. There's a clip of one bit you really want to get to when you get to watch the full film, but then all that came before that sequence and what came after pales in comparison. Sort... of...?

Yeah, exactly like that.

At this point I don't think Burial will release something that is not absolutely amazing.

Eventhough you're right, and I somewhat agree with you, I would still very much love to have the full version of Feral Witchchild...
I also kinda doubt that the full tune would disappoint because the rest of it wouldn't be able to live up to that loop... you see, Burial is known for making non-lineair tunes, all of his tunes are just 1 constant flow of sounds, so I highly doubt that the rest of Feral Witchchild would be that different than the bit we've all heard on youtube for countless times.

But I agree with you all, I also seriously doubt that a 2 year old tune (probably even older) would still get a release some day... unfortunately.
Ah well... not much more we can do about it besides being patient... let's just hope it'll be on his third album.

That's the problem, if it's slightly less than amazing you'll think it's 100 times worse because it doesn't live up to your expectations, and you'll be devastated.
I think that's why i didn't like fostercare so much.

Kode9 said there is nothing to be released at the moment. He will probably let us wait for another 28 years or just release it randomly one day

Wait, didn't MAH say something about it on her last radioshow with Kode9? Maybe she just hinted at it...can't remember.

Yeah it got mentioned, but definitely nothing concrete. I think her words involved "whispers".

Don't hold your breath.

hasezwei - I fear you may be bang on.

Edit - HDB013 - Burial - Street Halo 12"

Of all the newest-ish stuff we have heard from Burial, it was the tunes previewed at that Torino (?) thing, all 3 on the youtube clip were fantastic and were exactly what I wanted to hear. Ego and Mirror are great, but it's just not the same. For what it's worth, I love Fostercare, and Vial too.

Both listed as "Additional Production from: Will Bevan", I think he's got a lot of shit going, leave him to it and he'll give us some releases soon enough, what with another ominous "Kode 9 - Plays Burial" set coming up, no one this talented can just slip into the cracks and remain a ghost of a passed generation.

I guess he's talking about Benji B's show tonight. Kode9 is on - no doubt this will get its first airing:

Kode9 also said after one of the untitled tracks ripped from a Benji B show that the song played was to feature on Burial's album to be released later that year (2009?).
