well, regardless of whether we are the cause of it or not, we still need to do what we can to contribute to it as little as possible and adapt to it. cuz it seems like its gonna be real wet, real soon. and thats not a euphemism.

I had an geology class 3 years ago or so with an geologist. He told us that although the summers have been warmer and the winters milder ( except last one) the growth of all glaciers here in Iceland have been increasing.
I found that quite amazing, made me check into global warming more than just reading the news.

a drastic decrease in the population is good. there are too many of us. the real threat to this planet is our numbers.

To think of it, climate change/global warming and other physical threats seem to become a common enemy for humankind and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

so you think all those satellite images, photographs, and videos of antarctica and other icy areas melting is just a farce ?

I mean, maybe some places are getting more icy while others are melting. either way, though, there is absolutely no question that our global climate and ecosystem is changing drastically.

whether its due to a organic polar shift, or whether it's natural or human caused, is really not the significant part. the significant part is that its happening and we need to adapt, fast. This should be on the top of every bodies concerns right now, even if you care not about the continuation of the human race. if we adapt our lifestyles and prepare ourselves for the natural disasters to come, at the very least this will minimize trauma and suffering. we know for a fact that we contribute to it, so then we need to do what we can. even on an individual level.

I never said that I don't believe that this is happening, what I don't believe is that this is all because of human actions. If this would be because of human actions how would you explain that the heat of the planets around us is rising and more. I don't think there is anything we can do about this, this is just a natural cycle that the planets go through.
After every warm era must come a cold one, and we are about to enter one.

pretty much my exact sentiments. it's impossible to argue against the fact that we are damaging the planet and i'm sure that this has some impact on the environment but i'm unconvinced that global warming (caused by greenhouse gases - and even then by greenhouse gases that mankind can be directly blamed for) are the only, even main, cause. we should still do what we can to reduce emissions because this can only have a beneficial effect, assuming it's done properly.

biggest volcano in the world i thought. the whole of yellowstone is one giant caldera volcano. and it's steaming because it's a hot spring like the geysers in iceland, that's what it does.

yellowstone lake is a freshwater lake. some of it is over geothermal hot spots but not the whole thing. usually it stays frozen from dec-may

that's not the yellowstone lake though; it's the grand prismatic spring (what an awful name lol)
