I know some douchebag that found one of these set out by the trash!! It works perfect too.Alphacat wrote:About 12 years ago, was walking down Haight with a couple friends and saw a yard sale just off on a side street with some musical gear - went over, saw this beast of an old synth with fake woodgrain and everything. I knew nothing about analog synths at the time but thought it might be fun to play with anyway.
The seller wanted $35, and like an asshole, I tried to talk him down to $30 but he held firm.
Turned out what I'd bought was a pristine Roland Juno-60 (with a hardcase no less!)... and it taught me everything I know about synthesis. Still the most fun instrument to play that I own, including several guitars and drum machines.
